Meet Jeff
Jeff Okrepkie was elected to the Santa Rosa City Council in November 2022, and currently serves as the Vice Mayor of Santa Rosa.
Jeff’s inspiration to serve began after the 2017 Tubbs Fire, when Jeff’s home was one of thousands in Santa Rosa that was destroyed overnight. With his home reduced to ashes and the way of life as he knew it shattered overnight, Jeff founded Coffey Strong – a nonprofit that brought neighbors and community members together to share resources and create a more efficient and cohesive community rebuilding process.
Jeff’s leadership in founding Coffey Strong was recognized by city, county, state, and federal leaders, and has become a model of community recovery and resiliency in other fire-impacted communities across the state and nation. That experience also led to a strong interest in continuing to give back through public service.
The year after the Tubbs Fire, Jeff was appointed to the Santa Rosa Planning Commission, a position he held until he was elected to the City Council. He also served our community as a Board Member for the Santa Rosa Fire Foundation, amongst other city and nonprofit leadership assignments.
Since joining the City Council as Santa Rosa’s District 6 representative, Jeff has been hard at work to invest in our city, neighborhoods, and quality of life. He currently serves on several city and county boards and commissions, including service as:
- Board Member, Sonoma County Transportation and Climate Authorities (SCTCA)
- Board Member, Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO)
- Member, League of California Cities Fire Insurance Working Group
- Chair, Sonoma County Measure H (Fire Services) Oversight Committee
- Chair, Public Safety Subcommittee
- Chair, Economic Development Subcommittee
- Member, Long Term Financial Policy and Audit Subcommittee
- Member, Climate Action Subcommittee
Jeff and his wife, Stephanie, live in Coffey Park, where they’re raising their two school-aged children: Tillman and Quinn.
